Neil Norris is an industry recognized professional in workplace management. He has a proven track record with strong industry networks and broad cross functional experience. Retired after 25 years with Hewlett-Packard, Neil designed, developed, implemented and managed workplace services infrastructure for office based, mobile and remote employees in Americas Field Operations, including administrative support services, voice and data services, copy services, office supplies, distribution activities, and remote support programs. Neil’s specialty was using a holistic approach to workplace design, combining space, technology, services and change management to build effective and productive virtual work solutions. His talent for developing innovative programs and achieving results in complex organizations, and strong analytical, financial and quality skills, make him an ideal consultant in the expanding field of virtual work. Neil participated in research projects and seminar presentations with MIT, and Gartner Group, was a guest speaker at Wharton school of business, CoreNet, and numerous other trade association meetings, and participated in the International Workplace Studies Program at Cornell University. Neil served as a member of the HP Virtual Office Steering Committee, was the primary consultant for HP customers and other HP organizations interested in alternative work site consulting, and was utilized as an HP Corporate spokesman on numerous media inquiries . Neil earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of North Florida, and Master of Business Administration from Mercer University
Michael Dziak, Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Michael Dziak is in his fifteenth year as a telework consultant, author and trainer, has helped dozens of companies and thousands of knowledge workers become successful in their telework experience. Since 1991, Michael’s first company, InteleWorks, Inc., has successfully assisted public and private sector clients with the many changes required to adopt a telework culture. Among these clients include the Atlanta Regional Commission, BellSouth, BioLab, Fulton County Government, Federated Systems Group, Comdata, Clayton College and State University, Coca Cola Enterprises, Georgia Department of Industry, Trade and Tourism, the Georgia Environmental Protection Division, Georgia Power, SchlumbergerSema, Southern Company, and others. Michael’s early change-oriented initiatives included the founding of the Metro Atlanta Telecommuting Advisory Council in 1992. As an officer for four of the five years he was a board member of ITAC, the International Telework Association and Council, Michael influenced the professionalization, positioning and growth of the telework industry through his leadership in this non-profit organization. Michael has authored many articles on telework, technology, and the environment, was featured in his home office on CNN’s Science and Technology Week, and has been featured in Computer Week Magazine, the Wall Street Journal, the Atlanta Journal and Constitution, the USA Today, Home Office Computing Magazine, CNNfn Special Feature, and other media featuring his telework expertise. Prior to his career in telework, Dziak spent nearly eighteen years in the telecommunications industry in marketing and sales positions. He wrote a telework program implementation manual entitled The Remote Control System Pro, and a book that helps remote workers become “Power Telecommuters” entitled Telecommuting Success: A Practical Guide for Staying in the Loop While Working Away from the Office, available in book stores since March 2001. Kate North, VP Global Business Development
Kate North is Vice President for Global Business Development for e-Work.com, Inc. Kate is responsible for leading the global business development efforts for large enterprise accounts and developing partnerships with consultants and service providers around the world. Kate has extensive experience working with executives, consultants and designers in leveraging the workplace as a strategic business tool and creating inspirational places to work. Throughout her career and she has helped organization accelerate the transition from a traditional workplace to a highly collaborative virtual workplace, including mobile work, distributed work, and remote work / telework.
Kate’s has harnessed her passion, knowledge and experience in workplace strategy recently as she has helped to establish the CoreNet Global Workplace Community of Practice where she currently serves as the Operational Chair. This industry-leading group has created and leveraged world-class best practices among peers and colleagues globally. Kate is also a member of New Ways of Working, a consortium of professionals focused on mobility strategies and research
Prior to joining e-Work.com, Kate served as Haworth’s Global Director of Ideation where she was responsible for leading the Ideation Group, a global workplace research consultancy that advised clients on aligning workplace changes with organizational strategies throughout North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, The Middle East and Latin America. This multi-disciplinary consultancy also conducted both academic and applied research using design and science methodologies to create a holistic workplace approach to the customers they served.
Previously Kate was at Herman Miller Inc. for 13 years in which she served in various positions, most recently as the Vice President of the Strategic Business Group. To follow a dream of living internationally, Kate left Herman Miller in 2004 to move with her family to New Zealand where she was Director of Strategic Business for a Herman Miller dealer, Matisse. During this time, she helped launch the New Zealand Chapter of CoreNet Global and the New Zealand Green Building Council. In addition to actively promoting workplace as a strategic tool through various publications and speaking engagements , Kate joined forces with HP, Microsoft and the NZ Chamber of Commerce to visibly promote mobile work as a viable option for NZ organizations.
Kate earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design at Utah State University and continues to engage with many universities globally on various research initiatives. Most recently Kate was involved in the launch of oxYgenz.com project, a research initiative led by the Global Workplace Innovation group at JCI designed to better understand Gen Y’s workplace preferences globally.
